We have seen human beings hating from the beginning of history, and the only thing this hate has ever produced is destruction. We have seen valiant individuals, a few standing up and reminding man that he cannot afford to hate. We have rewarded those individuals with death and misery but we have never proven them to be wrong.

Throughout his career, Manly Hall emphasized the importance of personal growth - through self-discipline and a gentle, receptive attitude toward life. In this talk, recorded in Los Angeles on December 15, 1957, Mr. Hall discusses the importance of value and the dangers of celebrity culture.
